Art House

Palmerston is a 5,000 m² art house in Brussels overlooking Square Ambriorix. Transformed by palipali and Respace, this project focuses on fostering creation and exchange in this building long used as a former nursery.

Large windows and high ceilings elevate numerous flexible spaces and rooms available as artist studios, workshops and further creative entities.

Dormant for 8 years, Respace has reactivated this former nursery into a creative and collaborative hub where art, community, and culture intertwine. This revitalized 5,000 sqm spans on five levels, an open courtyard, a garage and undergrounds music studios hosting a rich variety of artists and labels.

With plenty of space for exhibitions and workshops, Palmerston supports artistic collaboration while engaging with the neighbourhood through inclusive programs and events. Its mission is simple yet profound: to cultivate creativity and make art an accessible, shared experience for all.

For this initiative, Respace collaborates with pali pali and Young European Artists. Known for its expertise in temporary occupations across Brussels, pali pali has contributed to landmark projects like See U, Le Grand Hospice, and L’Imprimerie de la Banque Nationale, enriching the city’s cultural landscape. Meanwhile, Young European Artists brings a fresh perspective to the artistic scene, focusing on emerging talents from across Europe. Their network is dedicated to discovering and empowering young creatives, fostering cross-cultural exchanges, and promoting bold, innovative projects.

Palmerston is calling for artists and creators to join its unique space, fostering a vibrant and inclusive artistic ecosystem. Open to visual artists, performers, musicians, architects, and more, residents will access workspaces in a renovated building, with opportunities for exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative events.
